Verenza was not a happy dragon. Sure, she was getting good information from the Hyndel Ebony Elves, but this just seemed wrong. She looked around carefully. She could see three other ebony elves hiding in the brush, she knew there were more, but these guys were good. In the distance there was a dozen farilon elves moving slowly through the thin woodland forest. This is the "no mans land" between the two tribes territories. The farilons had been hit by several Dragon Storms recently and now they were hunting well away from their village. The villagers were unable to produce the crops needed for the village, so these farilons were trying to hunt to supplement there food reserves. They really were not used to hunting and now they were slipping into Hyndel territory. Today the Hyndel planned on making an example of the intruders. Verenza thought it was wrong, these people need help, not war. She sighed, nothing she can do but go along, the ancient feuds had never been forgotten. The sad truth is none of these people even know the truth about their past. What they need to do is work together against the common enemy, but how do you make them listen?
For some unknown reason the ability to shift into the elven forms has remained a Dragon ability. Other bloodkin are simply unable to do this. No one seems to have an explanation. It is just one of those realities that one must accept. When in Ebony Elf form a dragon is able to use Elf Ace cards, but they still can't acquire Elf Boons at any time. They may take Elf Anchor cards, but the bonuses only apply when they are in an elf form, so you rarely see this happen. When a dragon is not in Ebony Elf, or Farilon elf form they may not use elf ace cards and they gain no bonuses from any elf anchors they took. The form is not just skin deep, the dragon temporarily becomes an elf all the way through. |
