Tasha had heard stories about this savage Necromancer. His love of cruelty was legendary. Tasha let her face show her disregard for the monsters life. She glanced right and left. Sending her thoughts to her compatriots who were staying completely hidden on her flanks. They would rely on her eyes. Kelious was the name of the brutish enemy she was stalking. She knew he had phenomenal skills at detecting shape shifters hunting him and that more than once Kelious had butchered his attackers. Tasha smirked. She had found one of his spies and had "convinced" him to tell her the secrets. Kelious was sensitive to the common ability to communicate called Channel Link. It was a method used by shifters, and others, to coordinate battle plans. Today Tasha had chosen a tiny Sprite form to watch him approach. She was nearly invisible. She had chosen just two compatriots and communicated only through Mind to Mind. The skill did not have the advantages of Channel Link, but it also did not have its weaknesses. She also wore no magic, nothing to give her away. Now Kelius was near. Tasha could see him clearly as the four slaves carried him along.
Tasha kicked away from the tree, shifting into a huge red dragon as she cleared the tree. Behind her a werewolf and werecat charged forward. Her flames reached out and touched Kelious's guards, all of them. Kelious himself would be feeling her full physical assault. Tasha's great form smiled, now this is the way to operate, this is going to be fun! The Mind to Mind ability predates the Channel Link that exists today. It is less useful because it has no special powers attached to it and it has a limited number of targets. It also takes no time at all to begin the communication system. As you can tell from the story, it is not detectable like Channel link is. It is also not a magic spell, so Arcane Knowledge and Senses of the Master will not pick it up. However, it should be noted that if you are using this to avoid detection you will also need to go without any magic items. Good Luck! |
