“Meeting MacBird” by Mark Harmon
44 Points
The world is a strange and wondrous place. The effects of warp on the creatures of the lands is evident in the strange blighted beasts that can occur in the world. Gamemasters may use any cards they like within the game, and I have used this rule liberally in creating Macbird.
Overview: While traveling, a hawkish bird with a huge bright red crest will start to carefully watch the characters. He is watching them to see if they present any danger to him. Macbird is technically an Evil Genius plague beast, but he is not thrilled about the being warped. If he could, he would return to being a common hawk. As it is, he is a genius and has learned to communicate with and understand other creatures. He finds warp creatures to be boring and has determined that it would be best if the warp was defeated and the world were to go back to normal. He will attempt to help or warn anyone who appears to be fighting warpspawn.
Macbird will pass on scouting information and tips about local places to the characters who talk with him. He is not great in combat, so he usually avoids anything bigger than a field mouse.
Terrain Card Any warped or normal terrain
Scene Card Plague Beasts
Cast Card Blighted Beasts
Features Cards Evil Genius, Draconic Mindspeech, Sense Danger, Nightvision,
Perception, three Good Moves.
I used Draconic Mindspeech, Good Moves and Sense Danger as Warp Features (at 3 points each) by applying Gamemaster's Rule 3.4!
To keep characters paranoid, other similar birds could be used by warpspawn or necromancers as an early warning system!
